Art Institute Lions

The Art Institute Lions were removed for the first time ever from their plinth's to be cleaned and waxed by the Conservation of Sculptures and Objects Studio on June 14th 2022. After receiving a thorough conservation treatment that included steam cleaning, laser cleaning, and applying a special protective wax coating, the iconic lions from the Art Institute of Chicago have returned home. It was truly an honor and a pleasure to photograph these historic sculptures. The C.S.O.S. carefully and safely transported them from their C.S.O.S. art conservation studio and re-installed them July 19th 2022.

UMBRELLA SKY ELMHURST

Elmhurst is only the 6th city in the U.S. to install The Umbrella Sky Project. With over 170 international installations, The Umbrella Sky Project first started out in Portugal, filling public spaces with these vibrant umbrella art projects. After moving to France, Spain, Japan, and even Norway, The Umbrella Project has found its way to Elmhurst Illinois '23. The ultra-colorful installation first began in 2012, creating a vibrant sense of joy and wonder that filled the sky with bright floating umbrellas.

The Mohr Concrete sits on nearly a block at Harlem Avenue and Garfield Street in southwest Oak Park, IL. The H.J. Mohr & Sons Co., an industrial concrete manufacturing company opened in 1893 – one of the oldest in the state – has had its doors closed since February 2018.
