Art Institute Lions
June 14th, 2022, The Art Institute Lions were removed from their plinths to be cleaned by the Conservation of Sculpture and Objects Studio. After receiving a thorough conservation treatment that included steam cleaning, laser cleaning, and applying a special protective wax coating, the iconic lions from the Art Institute of Chicago have returned home. It was truly an honor and a pleasure to photograph these historic sculptures off their plinth's. C.S.O.S. carefully and safely transported them from their C.S.O.S. art conservation studio and re-installed them July 19th, 2022.
